Question: How can i tell if my silver flatware is worth money?

I have some old silver that is stamped with Simon L and George P Co. Also has the number A14 on it?

Check Ebay to see what the going rate is. Check a few times over the course of a few weeks. There are also people who specialize in that kind of stuff. It doesn't hurt to ask an antique dealer what they will give you for it. Figure its probably worth at least twice what they offer.

Go to a good store which carries silverware and inquire about your brand. They may know the makers, and could quote a value.

Borders has a book with pictures showing silverware maker's marks and values. Take one along in your pocket.
