Do I have to sand all my wooden kitchen chairs to get a darker shade?
They are currently like a natural light finish. I want them to match my darker oak table. What should I do?
How can I get my kitchen chairs clean without always having to rip the whole chair apart?
I recovered my chairs in the kitchen and my kids wipe things such as mustard, ketchup and many other things on my chairs. I spend hours taking the chairs apart and uncovering them, washing them and then putting them back together. What is an easier way to get them clean and have a chair that doesn't have hard crusty fabric leftover? It gets frustrating constantly cleaning them.
How do I strip detailed kitchen chairs?
I have stripped and refinished tables and plain chairs with success, but have never attempted anything with carved scroll work and spindles like our dining room chairs. They need it badly and we just do not have the money laying around to have it done professionally. What works well for getting into the designs and removing the finish? The chairs are oak and I would guess whatever finish is left is what they received at the factory. Thank you
When redoing kitchen chairs, Is it necessary to have the same color stripe be the center stripe on each chair?
I'm redoing my kitchen chairs with a stripe fabric. Its a kakhi background with alternating brown and red stripes spaced out over the background. Is it necessary to have the same color stripe be the center stripe on each chair? Or can I have 2 chairs have red center stripes, and the other 2 have brown as a center stripe?? if I do this, then I will use less fabric. Or is it more " professional" looking to have the same color stripe down the center of all 4 chairs??I have enough fabric to do it either way. but if I can save fabric then I can use the extra that I purchased to redo some Family room furniture.
What would modern white leather kitchen chairs look like with an old oak rectory table?
We have a modern apartment light and airy, and must fit our heavy oak table into the white kitchen. i like the look of old meets new, but can't find any pictures of this combination in any magazine............hmmm I wonder why? Do you know if it would look ok together? Have you seen any pictures of this? or anything similar? and if so, could you please forward them to me. open to all opinions
What is the best fabric to use to recover kitchen chairs (durable, stain resistant maybe since I have 4 kids)?
My kitchen chairs were beautiful when I got them. They are light oak bar height table with 6 chairs with a heavy off white fabric that has like ribs or indented areas like stripes but instead of color the fabric is indented...lol sorry didn't know how to describe it . I would like to redo them now that they are covered in yuck. I cleaned them 2x but they are really stained. I want to redo them in a bright color I love white, lime, aqua, bright oranges and pinks, like beachy colors . Anyone know what type of material I should look for?

I saw at an elementary school website you can put tennis balls on chairs. Clearly i am not an elementary school and since i have kids and they are usually the ones that draaaaaaaagggg the chairs i would like to correct it without looking like an elem school.. I have tried cleaning them, thinking something was on them making dirty. I have tried small peice of masking tape to see if it smoothed it out..So any suggestions. I know i cant be the only one out there with this problem...BTW chairs are iron or metal..tile flooring..

I want to redo my kitchen chairs?
I have some kitchen chairs that I need to redo. They're wooden chairs, with a wicker seat. The wicker is very worn as the chairs are pretty old. I'd like to put a regular seat on them, but I have no idea how What do I use as a base? That's pretty much my only question, oh And Do I need a staple gun? I'm assuming so. Thanks everyone
How do I remove the sticky black film from my wooden kitchen chairs without removing the finish?
My kitchen chairs are oak, stained, and varnished, and pretty old. They have a build up of a sticky black substance on the backs not the seats . When I try to clean them, the finish varnish comes off. Any Ideas on how to clean my chairs?

The lil chef guy towels and stuff got a lil black and white checkers pattern on them so should I cover my chairs in solid black Or the black and white checkers pattern?My chairs don't have upholstrey backs, there a darker brown wood. What stores sale the little chef guy salt and pepper shakers and stuff for my walls?
How Can I Make Kitchen Chair Cushions Removable?
I'm putting new material on the padded part of some stained kitchen chairs. I planned on using a plastic type material to cover it by simply removing the cushion and using a staple gun to attach the new material. However, I would like the covers to be removable. I don't know how to do this since staples are non removable. Any kind of screws that would work?

I'm trying to figure out something but I have no idea how to key word it for Google...and when I try it thinks I mean something else.Okay, I have four kitchen chairs with NO bench, no wood...as in if I sat down on these chairs I would go right through it and get stuck. So, how can I remedy this? What could I use to set here so that THEN maybe I can make cushions. When I google this all I get is " how to make your own cushions" but right now I need a foundation for the cushions and I have no idea what I might could use to make the base I need. I know it needs to be hard...would plywood not be durable enough for people to sit on?
