Question: I'm currently remodeling my kitchen, i have removed the tile, what do i do next? with the old backerboard?

Do i scrape the old backerboard until i get to the dry wall, and then put up a new backer? please help

I would remove the backer board and replace it with new. It's cheap enough to do it right.
